2. Overview
This website provides information about our services. It does not offer registration, a contact form or a newsletter. We do not use analytics, tracking or advertising services, do not embed third-party content such as videos, maps or social media plugins, and do not use cookies. We process personal data only when you visit the website and when you contact us.
3. Hosting and server log files
The website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur. When you visit the website, your browser transmits data to the server for technical reasons. In particular, the following data is processed:
- IP address of the requesting device
- date and time of access
- page or file accessed and amount of data transferred
- status code of the request
- previously visited page (referrer), if transmitted
- browser type and operating system
The purpose is to deliver the website and to ensure its security and stability, for example to detect and fend off attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in the secure and functional operation of the website.
Server log files are stored by the hosting provider for a maximum of seven days and then deleted. Data whose further retention is required for evidentiary purposes, for example to investigate a security incident, is exempt from deletion until the incident has been resolved.
The hosting provider processes this data as a processor on our behalf and in accordance with our instructions. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with IONOS.
4. Contacting us by email or phone
If you contact us by email or phone, we process the data you provide — usually your name, email address or phone number, your company if applicable, and the content of your inquiry — in order to handle your request.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR insofar as your inquiry is related to a contract or to its initiation. Otherwise, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in responding to the inquiries addressed to us.
We delete the data as soon as your inquiry has been conclusively dealt with and no further contact is to be expected. If the correspondence is subject to statutory retention obligations, in particular under commercial or tax law, we retain it for the duration of those obligations.
Emails sent to us are received and stored via Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online), which we obtain through IONOS. The provider is Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, Ireland. Microsoft processes this data as a processor on our behalf on the basis of the Microsoft Customer Agreement and the Data Protection Addendum incorporated therein (Art. 28 GDPR).
A transfer of personal data to the USA, in particular to Microsoft Corporation, cannot be ruled out in this context. Microsoft Corporation is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission has determined an adequate level of data protection (Art. 45 GDPR). In addition, such transfers are subject to the European Commission's standard contractual clauses concluded between Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited and Microsoft Corporation (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR).
5. Fonts
The font used on this website is delivered together with the website from our hosting provider's server. No connection to the servers of other third parties, such as Google, is established for this purpose when you visit the website.
6. Your rights
With regard to the personal data concerning you, you have the following rights vis-à-vis us:
- right of access (Art. 15 GDPR)
- right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
- right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
Right to object
Insofar as we process data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). We will then no longer process the data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims.
To exercise your rights, a message to info@octarai.de is sufficient.
Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is:
Der Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg (State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg)
Lautenschlagerstraße 20
70173 Stuttgart
7. Obligation to provide data and automated decision-making
You are under no statutory or contractual obligation to provide us with personal data. However, without the data transmitted for technical reasons when the website is accessed, the website cannot be delivered, and without contact details we cannot respond to your inquiry. Automated decision-making, including profiling, does not take place.
